A survey on the impact of computer games on teenager violence

This research has been made on the impact of computer games on Isfahan’s teenagers’ violence. In this survey, the cross sectional surveying method has been used. Based on Cochran sampling formula, sample volume of research has been estimated as 383 persons. Sample people have been selected by systematic sampling and simple random method. Results of the research showed that teenagers used computer games a lot. Also, the violence in teenagers has been higher than medium. Test of research hypotheses showed that the computer games of teenager with the content of killing, destroying, using Slanderous words in the game, martial and playing with friends, has direct and meaningful correlation with committing violent behavior in them. Playing mental and and educational games by teenagers, had reverse and meaningful correlation with committing violent behavior in them. But driving and sports computer games didn’t have meaningful correlation with violent behavior in them. The increasing production of computer games and their increased complexity has increased the popularity of these games.
